Dr. Juan Franco
Led the analytics practice for GroupM specializing in data science, marketing mix modelling, budget setting, digital attribution and predictive modelling. With 20+ years industry experience across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Asia, Juan also ran GroupM’s audience intelligence and activation platform; mPlatform. Worked for Unilever Australasia back in 2004 as Head of Modelling where he was responsible for setting up and implementing a Marketing Mix Modelling project into the business. After 3 years, he moved to OMD Australia as a Director for Brand Science. His work on media flighting, optimisation and budget setting won Juan a Media Federation Award (MFA) in the long term evolving campaign category in 2010. Within the group he also led the data solutions practice of Business Science for Mediacom ANZ to the end of 2017. Juan holds a Bachelor in Economics, Master in Econometrics (honours), and Master in Finance from his country of origin (Colombia). In Australia he finished an MBA at Western Sydney University (WSU). He is a qualified member of the CPA and graduated from PhD at WSU in Sep-2018. He is based in Sydney. Juan’s experience includes FMCG (Unilever, J&J, Wyeth, P&G, Nestle, Fonterra, Revlon, Kellogg’s), Insurance (Bupa, Allianz, GIO, AAMI, AXA, Insuranceline), Finance (BNZ, Westpac, St George, RAMS, NAB), Telecommunications (Telstra, Vodafone), Entertainment (Foxtel, UPI), Travel (Hawaiian Airlines, Carnival brands), Automotive (Audi, VW, Skoda, Mitsubishi), and Government (QLD Gov, NSW Gov, Vic Gov). Also, Juan is a University Lecturer in Australia (University of Western Sydney and Central Queensland University) and back in Colombia (Lasalle University and Sergio Arboleda University). His main contributions are in the econometrics, financial modelling and micro/macroeconomic fields.
Marc Schwartz
Marc holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Mathematics and has had a very successful business career from being Manager of Structured Finance Products at Macquarie Bank in 2007 to being Managing Director of Pascoes Pty Ltd from 2008 to 2018, which employed 150 people across two manufacturing sites and manufactured or distributed over 400 items to retailers. He is currently a Director of Gelflex Laboratories which is the largest manufacturer of contact lenses in the Southern Hemisphere, he is also Director of Blackfox Property – a property syndication company and current chair of YPO Sydney Pacific. Marc’s specialisation has been in operational and financial efficiency, investment and strategy.
